The curriculum spans human anatomy and physiology, cellular biology, genetics, ecology, environmental science, and everyday science concepts. The subject emphasizes understanding of life processes, human body systems, diseases and prevention, nutrition, and ecological relationships. The content is designed at the 9-10 level with some 11-12 concepts, focusing on practical understanding of biological phenomena and human health. Climate change, environmental degradation, and sustainable practices are included as contemporary science topics.

Learning Objectives

Upon mastering this subject, learners will be able to: (1) Understand cellular organization including cell structure, organelles, and their functions; (2) Explain the difference between living and non-living organisms; (3) Understand human body systems including skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous, endocrine, and urinary systems; (4) Apply knowledge of nutrition, balanced diet, and food constituents for health; (5) Understand growth, reproduction, and development in plants and animals; (6) Explain common diseases, their causes, symptoms, and prevention methods; (7) Understand ecology, ecosystems, food chains, and environmental relationships; (8) Apply knowledge of environmental conservation and sustainability; (9) Understand solar system, meteors, comets, and eclipses; and (10) Score 50-60 marks in the 18-22 biology and general science questions in NDA GAT examination.
